North Devon Footcare is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy when we use your personal data. We have recently updated our Privacy Policy to clarify how we protect your personal information in keeping with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
We currently collect and process the following information:
- Personal identifiers, contacts and characteristics (for example, name and contact details) in line with legal requirements for medical note-taking
- Family details
- Medical details (for example medical history, types of medication)
- Lifestyle choices / social circumstances
- Financial details for payment of services and products
How do we get personal information and why do we have it?
Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you to enable us to provide foot health services, maintain our records, and assist in the administration of the business to ensure we provide an efficient service.
Where necessary or required we also share information with other healthcare professionals (such as your GP or nurse), your parent/guardian (if you are a minor) or your welfare guardian or carer (with your consent).
We are also required by law to keep records of your treatments.
How we store your personal information
Your information is securely stored on our clinical system Cliniko. As per data protection laws, we keep your information for 7 years after your last appointment, then it is destroyed.
Your data protection rights
Under data protection law, you have rights including:
- Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.
- Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
- Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.
- Your right to object to processing - You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
- Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.
